The local power distributors of TVA-generated electricity in Alabama established the North Alabama Industrial Development Association.

Providing funding and serving as board members for more than 68 years, the local power distributors understand that being prepared is essential in the attraction of new capital investment and jobs.

North Alabama has very robust areas where a large power consumption requirements can easily be handled. A large quantity of TVA’s electricity is generated along the Tennessee River in North Alabama making the region a reliable source and net exporter of electricity. Along with the Tennessee River, numerous lakes, reservoirs, tributaries, and wells also serve an abundant water supply throughout the region.

NAIDA facilitates and provides information on locations with access and availability of the electricity, water, wastewater, natural gas, other industrial gasses, and telecommunications infrastructure a project requires, along with the capacities, timing, and costs associated with meeting the project’s timeline.
