Remington Outdoor Company Announces in Huntsville

After an intense six month site selection process in Alabama, Remington Outdoor Company announced that it would locate in the former Chrysler Building on Wall Triana Highway in Huntsville on February 17, 2014.

At the announcement in Huntsville, Governor Bentley said “I am honored to welcome Remington to Alabama”.  “With the acquisition of this facility, we plan to create 2,000 jobs in Huntsville over the next decade,” George Kollitides, Chairman and CEO, Remington Outdoor Company said. “This additional capacity is essential to fulfill demand and introduce new products. Having watched our Company grow from 2,400 employees in 2008 to 4,200 employees by the end of 2013, a five year, 75 percent increase, it is easy to see why we’re investing now.”

The State of Alabama, TVA, The City of Huntsville, Madison County, Huntsville International Airport, Limestone County and Morgan County all contributed to an aggressive incentive package that allowed Alabama to be chosen after Remington considered over 20 other states as a possible expansion location.

NAIDA is proud to have been the initial contact in North Alabama for this project and wishes to thank Brooks Kracke, Jetplex Industrial Park, for all his help in arranging the initial building visits by the advance teams from Remington and to Warren Hicks, TVA, for addressing Remington’s electric incentives.  We also congratulate Huntsville Utilities for the addition of this important electric customer to their system.
