For more than 75 years, North Alabama’s local public power distributors have supported NAIDA through funding and board leadership, reflecting a long-standing understanding that infrastructure readiness is essential to attracting capital investment and creating jobs.
North Alabama offers the utility capacity required to support a diverse range of industrial operations, including locations capable of accommodating significant power demands. A substantial amount of TVA electricity is generated along the Tennessee River in North Alabama, making the region a reliable source of electricity. The Tennessee River, together with numerous lakes, reservoirs, tributaries, and groundwater sources, also provides an abundant water supply for communities and industry.
Much of the region’s industrial property is located within established industrial parks where water and wastewater infrastructure is already in place, often with available capacity for new development. Natural gas is supplied through major interstate and intrastate pipeline systems and local distribution networks, while high-speed fiber and other telecommunications services are widely available to businesses and industries throughout the region.
NAIDA works with its local utility partners to identify sites and buildings that can meet a project’s specific requirements for electricity, water, wastewater, natural gas and other industrial gases, and telecommunications. We can provide information on infrastructure availability and capacity, as well as the timing and costs associated with serving a project, helping companies identify locations capable of meeting both their operational requirements and development schedules.
